MIDI Animation

This is an abstract musical animation created with MIDI data instead of traditional key frames. The song is an original composition recorded with FLStudio. I created several custom channel operators for Houdini to help process the MIDI information and animate the instruments.

I found this Sonic the Hedgehog ROM hack online and it's pretty good. I'm impressed to see multiple characters, new moves, and new physics in Sonic 1. There are plenty of graphic, sound, and music changes. I was disappointed to see many levels completely unchanged from the original, but I suppose this is only a beta.

Subsurface Scattering

This is a demonstration of a 3D computer graphics technique called subsurface scattering. When light hits real surfaces like wax, milk, and skin it will bounce around for a while before reflecting back. This technique allows these translucent materials to appear more realistic when we try to recreate them with a computer.

Swarming Insectoids

A particle simulation project for my Procedural Modeling and Animation class. The particles freaked out at the birthing location so they don't become visible until they are four seconds old; as a result, particles pop on and off at random so it looks like it has been horribly edited.
